Gender Inequality in the Context of Environmental und Disaster Risk in the Military
by Alice Gallo West and Sher Singh
Military Veterans find themselves impacted by chemical exposures as a hazard of War (Burn Pits). Likewise, the physical and mental health of the family structure are affected, such as femalecaregivers, a wife (partner), sister, mother, or children.
The effects of the burn pits are environmental discrimination.
Exposures happen in close proximity to where the military live, work and recreate. And, since womendo not self-identify if they have military service, marginalized communities need to be inclusive in theconversation of environmental and disaster risk.
This event will host an interactive discussion about education information, environmental discrimination, and advocacy.

Access to Clean Water in Indigenous Communities in Canada
Indigenous communities in Canada have struggled with access to clean drinking water. Since November 2015, 119 long-term drinking water advisories in Indigenous communities were lifted; however, currently 43 advisories are in effect in 31 communities. This 2-hour event will feature a moderator and panel consisting of subject matter experts, political leaders, youth advocates and individuals with lived experience. They will engage in discussion to facilitate Awareness, Education and ideas for Positive Change. BPW Canada has a long history of influencing policy change through briefs to the federal government, many which have addressed Indigenous women and girls, and other intersectionalities.

Achieving Economic Empowerment for Displaced Business and Professional Women
We are preparing for a major rise in people on the move - especially Business and Professional Women. This is already accelerating with refugees from the Ukraine, displaced people from Afghanistan, and climate refugees in New Zealand, to highlight current streams. I am co-hosting a talk which seeks to stimulate ideas and possible solutions (plenty of time for discussion) during the UN Commission on the Status of Women's 66th event on March 16th at 6 pm NYC time. We have 3 panels: Afghans resettled in the US, Americans (US and Paraguay) who faced challenges cracking the code of business and professional lives, and New Zealand leaders on women from disappearing islands trying to hold on to their culture and create a new life alongside new cultural opportunities.
It is free. Join us, help us enrich our thinking! Share this invitation far and wide please.
Thank you. Nermin

Women’s economic empowerment after Pandemic
全球新冠疫情後各國女性經濟賦權情況
After your workplace change, we need a new thought empowering women to ensure they will eliminate the pay gap. Less transportation time, but the line between work and life is much more ambiguous. Besides, during the pandemic, lots of the companies encourage their staffs Working from home (WFH), but the employer also cut some of their salary.
Will the salary gap become bigger? How do we to keep women’s rights to ensure they can have the same salary compare with the period 3 years ago.
During this meeting, our speakers will share their status in each country.
