Academic Arrangements Abroad

For 17 years, as Vice President of Sales and Marketing,  Mary had the privilege of working closely with Harriet Friedlander, President of Academic Arrangements Abroad and an active BPW member.  The mission was to develop educational travel programs to destinations throughout the world that could be marketed to the members of the Not-for-Profit client base.  Clients included museums, alumni associations, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Smithsonian,The Garden Club of America and other organizations.  The programs were designed to culturally and intellectually enrich the lives of the members of the organizations.

Chase Manhattan Bank

After completing the training program, Mary worked as a lending officer, calling on mid-sized corporate clients.   This early training honed her skills in financial analysis and research and developed the interpersonal skills necessary to sell bank products.

BPW ACTIVITIES

As a representative of BPW - International, Mary attends briefings presented by the United Nations Department of Global Communication.  The Department of Global Communication is tasked with raising public awareness and support of the work of the United Nations through strategic communications campaigns, media and relations with civil Society groups.  BPW is one such civil society group - as are all the NGOs who are affiliated with the United Nations.  These briefings can focus on any topic that is important to the work of the United Nations or topics can be suggested by the NGOs.   Briefings are presented by both United Nations personnel and by civil society experts.  Mary then writes up summaries of the briefings that can be posted on the BPW web site for the use of our members.

FAMILY
